In 2005 he went on a world tour with his own orchestra and choir, which was put together for this purpose.Īmigo has worked on numerous productions by other artists - including Pepe de Lucía, Sting, David Bisbal, Niña Pastori. In 2003 he resumed his collaboration with El Pele, with whom he made recordings, some of them with his own compositions. In 2001 one of his recordings received a Latin Grammy. He toured with José Mercé and made guest appearances at major European festivals.Īmigo won several prizes and made numerous recordings, some of which were awarded gold and platinum. In 1996 he was both soloist and producer of José Mercés Del Amanecer.
He started composing and in 1991 signed a contract with the Sony label. He then worked for a while with the singer El Pele.
Īt the age of 16 began a ten-year collaboration with the guitarist and composer Manolo Sanlúcar. Later he developed his own style, which combines classical flamenco and modern elements and he experimented with new tunings of the guitar and also played the sitar. He received classical training in composition, playing technique and improvisation. He started playing the guitar at the age of 4 and received lessons from Merengue de Córdoba and Munoz Exposito at the age of 8. Vicente Amigo grew up in Cordoba, where he still lives today.Īmigo was considered a child prodigy.
